On a latest development, Yahoo has reportedly bought another Silicon Valley start up, Bignoggins Productions as a part of its unabated quest for bringing the company into market in mobile applications. The acquisition is the latest in the series of deals that Yahoo has completed lately, mostly of small deals involving start up companies, soon after Marissa Mayer took over as the CEO last year.
Bignoggins Productions, founded in 2012, operates out of San Jose in California and is known for its mobile applications based on fantasy sports with two of its most successful apps namely Draft Monster and Fantasy Monster. The fantasy related sports apps has really fetched huge revenues to Bignoggins Productions. Interestingly the company had only one employee and he is the founder himself, Jerry Shen. In his blog, the developer stated that the function of his two applications will be tweaked into Yahoo Fantasy Sports. The terms of the deal remains to be undisclosed with Yahoo still not revealing the official figure.
Both the apps are best sellers for fantasy sports application in Google Play store. The apps were immediately taken off once the deal was finalized by the internet giant. Yahoo continues to acquire such start up based on applications signifying that the company is eyeing large in the mobile app market in near future.
