Tumblr, the micro blogging site owned by Yahoo!, has announced that it will allow users to make quick gif pictures from webcam. According to Tumblr, the feature will enhance the amount of self-focused content that users can use in the Tumblr blogs that they follow. With over a hundred million blogs posted in last May, Tumblr has become popular since its acquisition by Yahoo! this summer.
Tumbler has stated that users will be able to create gifs by clicking on "take a photo” while switching on their webcam and hitting the new introduced "GIF” button. Although the facility has been provided only on Chrome and Firefox, Tumblr plans to roll on the new functionality to other renowned browsers as well. Tumblr, however, didn’t mention anything about its mobile support to the same. Along with the launch, Tumblr also announced a security update for its mobile app for iOS users and has urged users to reset their Tumblr password from their mobile devices.
Tumblr, under the regime of Marissa Mayer, was acquired by Yahoo and the micro blogging site has seen an impressive increase of footprints ever since.
