Google this week revealed an improved search app for iOS that adds a Siri-like voice-recognition service.
According to Google the app update brings the "most advanced voice search" to Apple’s IOS Operating system. When you will open the free Google Search app on your iOS device, you will be see a "Try our new voice search" message above a microphone icon on the main app page. Tap that microphone, and speak into the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch as if you were talking to Siri.
Google’s Search engineer Kenneth Bongort wrote in a Blog post:
"Getting an answer is as simple as tapping on the microphone icon and asking a question like, ‘Is United Airlines flight 318 on time?’ "
"You can get answers to an increasingly wide variety of questions thanks to Knowledge Graph, which gives our search technology an understanding of people, places and things in the real world."
