Google has formally launched a benchmarking feature for AdSense called the Publisher Scorecard. The new functionality is going to provide users with a summary of performance about the content , ad settings and pages of the website as compared to other AdSense Publishers.
Google’s AdSense product manager, Nick Radicevic, has stated that "It’s organized into different categories, such as revenue optimization and site health, with each category scored on a scale of one to five blue dots indicating your performance." He also wrote that AdSense publishers will now on be able to understand further about the performance of their website and can also judge on steps to be undertaken to improve their rating following the suggestions and improvement tips. According to him, "Items that you should fix will be flagged by a red or yellow exclamation mark and once fixed, may help to increase your traffic and/or revenue. You’ll also be able to see updates to your score as you make improvements. In case you’re wondering if Google will take any action on low scores, the answer is no – this in an informational tool only to give you greater insights into how your site is performing."
AdSense, which completes its decade of existence this week, has earned millions of revenue since its inception and this can be easily sorted out by the whopping $7 billion made by publishers via AdSense last year alone.
