Facebook has outshined in the social networking sphere and the company has shown vested interest in maintaining its status quo. In a recent press release, the company has released that its mobile app designed for feature phones are being accessed by 100 million plus users around the world thus aiding the firm to expand its operation in developing countries like India.
Facebook’s Growth Manager, Ran Makavy, stated that "We are excited to announce that there are now more than 100 million people using Facebook For Every Phone each month."Facebook for Every Phone is powered by a technology created by Snaptu, a Israeli based Mobile Platform which was founded by Makavy in 2007, has been powering for more than 3000 types of hand held mobile devices manufactured by almost all operating mobile manufacturers. Facebook has even found a very sound response from the business model for ads running in these phones. Makavy also added that "Today, millions of people in developing markets like India, Indonesia and the Philippines are relying on this technology to connect with Facebook, without having to purchase a smartphone."
Facebook launched the mobile app based on Snaptu’s platform in July of 2007 and the app has received a overwhelming response from users around the world.
